I think this is an improvement? :] I can see a distinct improvement from my previous portraits! :] I'm so happy. Hehe.

The structure of the facial features are slightly more balanced, though it can be improved. Likeness to the figure can be improved but it shows a distinct improvement from my previous ones. Shading, using cotton bud was sooo much easier and helped me achieve that tone I liked. :] Detailing lacked but it was more than I normally do.

So I basically need to work on:

-Structure,
-Likeness
-Shading,
-Detailing
-Patience

LOL, one thing I realized portraits need a lot of patience. I don't have enough of it. Or maybe because it was getting late. Anyways, I shall record this, and work on the aspects. I hope the next one will be better! :]

Have you ever found that 3 hours that you know that you will be perfectly happy knowing that that will be your forever? I have, and this is what I got.

Its been almost one and a half years. I have never been happier, just doing that. I have a lot more to do and a lot more to improve to be anywhere near to be called an artist. But doing just this makes me so happy. Sad thought? It's probably going to be my last, until a very very long time. :[

The whole point of the blog is mainly and essentially -for me to have an outlet. And I want to keep everything I think is beautiful and sentimental, here -alongside with my thoughts in art or words, if without, I won't be able to function. I came across this poem a while ago. My Clean Slate

Do you always get the nagging feeling at the back of your head that things could be better, that things shouldn't be this screwed up? And no matter how much you try to be optimistic, but on a smile in hopes that you will forget them -your heart twists and reminds you, hey, life sucks.

You know, with all these 'growing up' and studying that we are currently busy with -I feel so conflicted. I'm literally on the road before the cross roads. After SPM, I will have to make a choice. Art/music, or Law/Medicine. On one point, I love art and music like one loves their own flesh and blood. It's my outlet. I'm not the type to be confined to four walls and a book. I need paper, I need paint, I need freedom.

Another, Law/Medicine guarantees assurance like art and music never can. The sensible side of me, is telling me, this is my career I'm choosing -not my hobby. A career that will provide for me, and if possible my parents and the rest of my family.

Fate and luck and heart screams for art and music. And mind, practicality and current predicaments calls for Law/Medicine. So I guess you can see my oh-so typical conflict, no?

I wanted to quit. Give in, you know. Try to forget art and music and well, move on. If I forget, it won't hurt that much. But it did. :/ A bit too much to put in words.

But one thing art and music has thought me, choices are never limited to one. And I should never ever quit. I was never born a quitter, and I'm not about to start. I'm going to make this choice count and no regrets -whichever I make. I'm going to make a living, and have art and music in my life. So this is me, restarting -stronger than ever, and I should be turning ashes into flames. :]

I think I'm beginning to get my art mojo back. About time too. :]

Note: The flowers are not vectorized by me, I got lazy and wanted to clear this off so I can practice on other pieces. HEHE. They are from Google. :P Strangely enough, normally vectors are very sharp, but I set the resolution in my initial canvas to 72 dpi. Smart girl. =.='

Great news! My vectorizing has cut down to about half of the time? :]

I'm pretty happy with this piece. It's been so long. :] I feel like I'm at home.

A challenge maybe, because black covers mistakes and has its natural edge. White, reveals your flaws and has virtually no edge. So maybe this is a revolution? :P

The image came to mind when I saw the smiling cat from Alice in Wonderland. I love that movie. :)

It started with me playing with make-up again. Then my sister wanted to take picture. Because she thought my pokerface make up was oh-so-cool. :)

I begrudgingly obliged (I hate being in photos). But I liked how they turned out and decided to vectorize one of them. Then, after vectorizing one for about... one month? (Yes, vectorizing for me takes that long. GO AHEAD! LAUGH!) And I did the finishing touches to it.

I like it. :) Even if it means me being in a picture, it was really fun. A big change from what resources I normally work with. You know, those model perfect looks. Boring. :)

I Have A Dream the Musical

I'm pretty sure those involved in the school musical has seen this before, but since this was the longest computer digital design I did, I'd figured I'd post it up here. :)

Yeah, this is kind of the official image for our school's musical. I have to admit, the musical is held at a rather large scale. Then Pn. Hamimah/Pn. Christina/Pn. Mages asked me to design a crew T shirt and official commercial T Shirt for it. So I suggested to design an official logo thing, so it'll be easier for everyone to recognize it/easier for me. :P

To everyone who I designed for, will know I start off with kind of a short interview to find out the feel my client (yes, they are my clients, it's best to start off professional at a young age. ;) wants. So I was talking to Pn. Chris, she wanted something not too deep, not too cheerful, something that will appeal to the teen-ish audience.

It was hard to portray that. So when she mentioned 'teen' feel, I immediately thought of vectors. So I showed her examples of vector images, she liked on particular one, one with rainbows, so I started brainstrming for something with rainbows and making sure its not too cheerful.

I liked to make it not too shallow. You see, all my drawings/creation holds a certain meaning to me, they are not just surface based. So here is the meaning:

The island is all withered up, representing the so called 'hopeless' students of the play. The teacher on the island then sees hope, the dove (the symbol of hope) flies by and reaches for it. Then she sees hope and oppurtunity, then the rainbow appears, showing that she has a dream to bring the students back on track. :)

So what do you think? My first vector image, that was why it took so long. Fingers crossed the musical will go well. :)

I love this how this turned out. Though the eyes did not glow as they did when I was editing it. My mum got freaked out by this. XD But blame me, I love all this kind of stuff. The passage above, er... wrote it out of impulse. Not much of a writer so bear with me.

Okay I so know that my drawing skills rusted after like.... weeks... no MONTHS! Hopefully I will regain what I lost through practice.

So what I did was, since my drawing skills has like literally rotten over time. I took my brother's how-to-draw book, you know those type where they give you a step by step pace to draw something. I know that is very cliched, but still, at least it is drawing.

Its like a deep breath after holding your breath for a long time. I kept complaining to Mel (sorry mel! :P) that I missed drawing. Because you know, the homework/revision/projects are slowly piling up. I did not have my daily drawing routine. Its either drawing or sleeping. I was about to pick drawing, but my parents stopped me. :S

This is an interesting drawing style. Something crossed between realism/cartoon. It probably won't look anything like realism/cartoon since I drew it, but yeah. I will be drawing more from the book now. :)

Until my drawing skills are somewhat better, I will go back to my own drawings.

Well, I cannot completely claim credit for this piece. I was on my way back from school after picking up my PMR results, and I saw this piece of mural which I though was like 'WHOA!'.

I just HAD to try and make a similar version! XD I loved the piece soo much! So this is not an original piece, its something I tried to copy. :P Mind you, I only saw a flash of the mural so I can't get all the details right. So I modified it a little bit. I think the piece will look prettier if I added more weird creatures in it. But I want to sleep now. :D

Ahhaaa.....
I still can't find an art class that gives portrait classes with flexible timings! So I have resorted to practicing meanwhile I go hunt for it! :)

Mind you, the results were not as promising. I doubt this even looks like a human head sculpture, try tilting it a bit! I call it ABSTRACT! :D

But none the less, I am pretty proud of this one! I actually followed the proper steps and drew the structure first! Normally I just jumble all the steps up and come out with crap! *sighs* Still in desperate need of art classes.

Haha! Look closely if you can make out where is the head, he has a DOUBLE CHIN! XD

Seriously, don't ask me why Breaking Dawn inspired this. I have no idea. Maybe it was Bella's wedding. Though that didn't end badly.

In case you cannot read the note, it says:

I always imagined how brides run away, and where they run to. I mean, the big white dress is hard to hide and maneuver right? And why? Another man?

Well, I think it will be more painful (or less, depends on the groom) if she left him on the aisle for death. To think of some one that you love did not love you back, instead loving death more. Oh, she is running to the sea, drowning herself. :D

This will make a nice last love note won't it? A nice tragic ending to a happy love story.

I am dedicating this post to you Mel! :) So anyhoo, let me tell you about this friend of mine. Mel or Freaking Poet hates being in photos, writes AWESOME poetry and says 'mew' alot. :D

Oh, she wears black, only black. And hates the color pink. So at one point of time, I nicked name her Princess Pinky. Just to annoy her. (a nasty habit of mine, annoying people) Wait... I don't think I was the one who came up with the name... but I remember calling her that.

And she promised to go dance class with me after PMR! We never really gotten to it, can't find a decent class. :S

And she gave me the nick name Jubbie! At first it was Dubbie, but then I found out about something with that name then I asked for a change. I forgot what it was.... I was not known for my memory okay!

I think Mel is the one of the most interesting person I've met in my life. I can just seriously just sit and watch her. And she is the best friend anyone can have! :D

P.s. These cartoon characters are not meant to look like the real person. Oh I am working on MORE cartoon characters of my friends, will post them up real soon. If you want to be drawn as a cartoon character, go ahead and tell me! I got nothing better to do during the holidays. :)

Baba was the one who told me to draw all the figures and weird stuff. I seldom use colors in my drawings -mostly G1 pilot gel pen and red pen. My friends reckon my drawings are 'emo'. (Which they are SO not, how can I be emo?)

Tragic Death

I love skulls.
To some, it represents death, sorrow, or maybe even horror. To me, it represents drama, sacrifice, selflessness and the beauty of death.

I have no idea why, every time I look at skulls, it reminds me of Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet. Maybe because the ending involves everyone dying. Read this poem extracted from the novel. I LOVED it. :)

Two households, both alike in dignity,
